Sustainability

Upcycled, zero waste, made to last.

Almost everything we make starts as upcycled fabric, every offcut becomes something new, and nothing is mass-produced. Like this quilt, our studio wastes nothing.

How we keep it sustainable

From the fabric we start with to the scraps left on the cutting table.

  1. Upcycled materials

Almost all our pieces are made from upcycled fabric, giving good material a new life instead of letting it go to waste. It is kinder to the planet and to the people who made the cloth in the first place.

  2. Zero waste

We keep every scrap in the studio. Offcuts become hair bows, bags, neckties and other small pieces, so no fabric gets thrown away.

  3. Timeless and durable

We do not design for a trend that will be gone next season. We make statement pieces in good, durable fabric, meant to be worn and loved for years.

  4. No mass production

Everything is made to order, so we only make what someone has asked for. No bulk runs, no stockpiles, and nothing unsold heading to landfill.

Leftover fabric becomes bows and bags

Ruffle Rossette started this way. After fashion school, Mahnoor sewed the first pieces from fabric left over from her school projects, on her mother's sewing machine. The habit stuck: the offcuts from every dress are saved and sewn into hair bows, bags and neckties.

What we never do

Everything is made to order and every scrap is kept, so none of these happen in our studio.

  • Bulk production runs
  • Warehouses of stock
  • Unsold dresses in landfill
  • Offcuts in the bin

Sustainability questions

Almost all of them. Most of our pieces start as upcycled fabric that would otherwise go to waste. If you want to know about a particular piece, ask us before you order.

They become smaller pieces. Our hair bows, bags and neckties are sewn from leftover fabric, so nothing from the cutting table is thrown away.

No. Every made-to-order piece is cut after someone orders it, so there is no warehouse of unsold dresses and nothing to send to landfill at the end of a season.

Ask about sizing, fabric or timing before you order.
